👁️ When Your Vision Is Cloudy: A Lesson on Spiritual Eye Infections

I went to the eye doctor recently thinking I just needed a new prescription for my contacts. Instead, I found out I had an eye infection. The ophthalmologist gave me antibiotic eye drops and said something that stopped me in my tracks:

"While you're using these drops, you can't put in your contact lenses. Your eyes need to rest and heal. No foreign matter allowed."

Whew. That hit me hard—but not just medically. It hit me spiritually.

Because the Holy Spirit immediately whispered: "That’s how your spiritual eyes work, too."

When Your Vision is Cloudy....

👁️ Spiritual Vision Can Get Infected, Too

Sometimes, our spiritual sight gets clouded—not because God isn’t moving, but because we’re not looking at Him. We’ve shifted our gaze. We've allowed foreign matter—like doubt, fear, negativity, and distractions—to settle in.

And just like with my physical eye infection, when that happens, we can’t see clearly:

• We question God's promises.

• We stop trusting His timing.

• We let others' opinions distort our perspective.

• We lose focus on the mission, the goal, the why.

  
  

💧 God's Prescription for Clear Sight

Here’s the truth: your spiritual vision needs maintenance just like your physical eyes.

When you notice your view is blurry—when you're unsure, overwhelmed, or stuck—it might be time for a spiritual detox. A break from whatever’s been distorting your focus. Catching the #DagDailyDose might help too. 8-)

• Remove the foreign matter. That means disconnecting from what’s pulling you away from peace and truth.

God wants to restore how you see—yourself, your situation, your future. But first, He might need you to take your spiritual contacts out. Let your heart rest. Let your spirit heal. Let His Word do its work.

So today, ask yourself: What’s infecting my vision? What foreign matter needs to be removed? What am I looking at more than I’m looking at God?

He’s ready to treat your sight. Are you ready to see clearly again?
